Appalachian Plateau Region
Location-
The Appalachian Plateau is located in the northwest tip of Georgia. It's the smallest region in Georgia.
Physical Features-
The Appalachian Plateau include coalfield sites, sandstone bluffs, sedimentary rocks, black shale, and limestone deposits. The plateau is flat, and has gently sloping land.
Climate-
The Appalachian Plateau features cooler temperatures from most of Georgia due to higher elevation. It gets a similar amount of rainfall, but it's more likely to fall snow in colder months.
Crops-
The Appalachian Plateau has hardwood forests, native azaleas, mountain laurel, and berries. The berries are the Appalachian region's cash crop.
Minerals-
The Appalachian Plateau's mineral is coal.
Animals-
The Appalachian Plateau has foxes, deer, raccoon, squirrels, groundhog, coyotes, rabbits, mountain lion, and bobcats.
